HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG!!!To kick things off, we have a rather enormous bundle of news for you this week! To start with, Greg's second Humphrey the Hamster audio book, "Friendship According To Humphrey", was officially released yesterday in the UK. This children's audio CD can be purchased online at Amazon.com - but you must be a UK citizen, due to it currently being a UK-only product. Easy To Assemble, the web-based show that Greg appears in alongside Illeana Douglas, has already been making quite a name for itself. After the first episode being on YouTube for just five days and receiving over 300,000 hits, the show was picked up by CBS to air weekly on TV.com. Here is a quote from an article on Tubefilter News: After just five days on YouTube, Easy to Assemble has been picked up by CBS in a deal that will have new episodes of the show running exclusively on TV.com for a week after each release, starting Monday the 29th. The IKEA-backed show created by and starring Illeana Douglas racked up over 300,000 views since its debut Monday. This will mark TV.com’s first foray into original scripted content. You can watch Episode 1 here, and Epsidoe 2 here. Keep checking back to EasyToAssemble.TV for the latest episodes and postings! However, something even more exciting is just around the bend! True Jackson, VP, begins airing on November 8th on the Nickelodeon channel right after iCarly! Tension is beginning to mount for this new tween-driven show and as Nick has begun to promote it, the hype is building. Greg seems to have a fairly essential role in the show, so the premiere will be highly anticipated! The very first promotional trailer for the show has been released. You can watch the trailer now by clicking here! There has also been some more confirmations concerning other upcoming works of Greg's, straight from the horse's mouth. Greg made mention that the Largo CD is still in progress, but said little else about it. We can only hope that it'll be completed soon! He also affirmed that he will be doing all of the announcing in Nintendo's Mad World Wii Game, so he will be present in the game itself, not just in the trailer. Its release date is yet to be announced. For all of you Whose Line Is It Anyway? fans, rumor has it that the next Whose Line DVD will be released sometime in 2009. In a recent online interview with Warner Home Video, WHV revealed that they are currently in the works of putting together the Season 2 DVD of Whose Line, and that it'd hit the shelves sometime next year. Whether it will be like series one with two split DVDs, or if it will be combined into one or a small box set, is currently unknown. And of course, we cannot have proper news without the latest version of Greg's touring schedule. It goes as follows:

  Just announced today, a brand-new, innovative comedy show featuring Greg entitled "Easy To Assemble" is set to hit the internet on September 22nd. This web-only show is about a Hollywood actress, Illeana Douglas, who quits showbusiness to become an employee at an IKEA in Burbank, California. The series concerns her trouble returning to 'normal' life, as well as dealing with stalkers, celebrity friends, gossip columnists, and more. "Easy To Assemble" is a sort of revamped version of a series made back in 2006 called "Illeanarama", which also featured Greg in a single episode. This very short show, sporting many of the same people as "Easy To Assemble", had the same basis as well, except it was set in a grocery store. In "Illeanarama", Greg plays Illeana's agent, Ben. Whether or not Greg will be represing this role currently remains unknown. To kick off our most recent installment of news, we have a bit of an exciting rumor! In a recent interview, Greg made mention of a new comedy CD! This CD, however, would not necessarily be like his other standup CDs. No, rather, this CD would be focusing on The Greg Proops Chat Show at Largo! So far, other than this initial announcement, we have no news on the CD (what all it will contain, how it will be structured, release dates, etc.), but I will post more info as it presents itself. If you're a gamer, you just might have noticed that Greg is the narrator in the trailer for Mad World, a new Nintendo Wii game. It is currently unknown if this voice work was just for the commercial alone, or if Greg will be featured as the narrator throughout the entire game. Back on June 19th, I made mention that Greg revealed in a fairly recent interview that he'd recently done some voicework for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, in a villain role. However, it was never specified whether this VO work was for the film that was released today (in the US), or the new television series. However, I can now confirm that it will be for the TV series, as I attended a screening of the new animated film, and Greg was not a participant. So, we'll keep our eyes peeled for any news concerned the television show (which begins airing October 3rd in the US). Lastly, for our US and Canadian viewers, if you love The Nightmare Before Christmas, then you're in for a real treat! Disney just re-released Nightmare on a special two-disk 15th anniversary collector's edition DVD. The new DVD is digitally remastered, and includes a host of new features and extras, including a behind-the-scenes making of Nightmare, a special on the worlds in the film, deleted scenes, audio commentaries, and more! The DVD is already on sale, and should be available in your local retailer! Back on June 3rd, we announced the prospect of a new television series called "True Fashion" that would feature Greg in a reoccuring role. The pilot had been filmed, but there had been no word on whether or not the series would be picked up. That is, until now. Nickelodean has announced that it will air the series later this fall, the new title re-fashioned (no pun intended) to "True Jackson, VP". Nickelodean, which will air the series during their TEENick lineup, has so far ordered twenty episodes of the show. An except from a recent article in Yahoo! Finance quotes: "The first episode introduces True Jackson as a no-nonsense teenager selling sandwiches outside the offices of a major fashion label. When the head of the company, Max (Greg Proops) is solicited by her, he notices True's young yet marketable fashion sense and offers her a job on-the-spot as Vice President in charge of his youth apparel line. She accepts and soon encounters the office politics: her older -- and bitter -- executive assistant Cricket and resentful colleague Amanda (Danielle Bisutti). But with the help of her high school friends, Lulu (Ashley Argota) and Ryan (Matt Shively), True quickly acclimates to the corporate culture and deals with it as if it was just another day in high school." Filming is set to begin in September. We can only hope that filming will not interfere with Greg's current tour schedule during that month. More information concerning the show will be posted as updates present themselves! On a different thread, Cyxork 7 was re-released onto DVD a few days ago. Normally we'd begin our news installment with tour updates, but because this is something I've been practically slaving away at since April, and it's now the largest part of the site (save for the Galleries), I deemed it best to announce it first. As previously mentioned, Greg is featured in the film "Super High Me", a comical documentary about smoking marijuana for thirty days, and then not smoking at all for thirty days. Super High Me was released just a couple of days ago, and can now be ordered online here. (Region 1 only!) It is currently unknown whether or not this title will be available in stores - but my guess would be probably not. For all of our British viewers and UK Greg fans, Greg will be returning this season to the popular BBC show "Mock The Week". The air dates for Greg's appearance are currently unknown, but keep an eye out for him this season! Mock The Week begins its new lineup starting July 10th and will run for twelve weeks. Lastly, Greg has recently mentioned in an audio interview that he has done some voice work for "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", playing the role of a villian. Who his character is exactly, we are unsure of at this moment in time. We also do not know if this voice work was for the upcoming animated television series, or the film that is set to come out into theatres mid-August, as both are of the same name, and Greg did not specify. At the moment, our guess is that it was for the tv series, not the film. Updates will be posted about this as they come along! Lastly, but far from least, now it's time to list the compulsory tours and gigs updates! A few new shows have been added to Greg's schedule, including a standup gig in Pasadena at the Ice House on July 2nd, another Proops & Maron talk show on July the 3rd, and the next Greg Proops Chat Show is set for July 26th. To begin today's onset of Proops news, we have a tasty tidbit for you to nibble on: there is a possibility of a new television series that will feature Greg in a recurring role. This show is currently entitled "True Fashion", and has already begun filming. Whether or not the series will actually be picked up remains to be seen, but we can only hope and remain confident that perhaps later this year, or early the next, we will be able to see this new comedy. More information on True Fashion will be posted as it provides itself, so do stay tuned! Die-hard Proops fans will tell you just how difficult it is to get a hold of one of Greg's more fairly recent works, Cyxork 7, a science-fiction comedy that was produced in 2005. Though it was available for a very limited time via Amazon, it is now impossible to find, not even on notorious Ebay. But we have good news! MTV is releasing the film out on DVD, and it is available now for pre-order with a 38% discount. The DVD ships on July the 29th. If you're interested in pre-ordering the DVD now, please click this link. (Please note that this is a Region 1 DVD, meaning that it will only play in USA and Canadian players, unless your player is universal.) For all of our US viewers, Greg will be appearing on Wednesday night's episode of "The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson", as broadcasted via CBS. Lastly, Greg is the narrator of the audio versions of a popular British children's book series about a classroom pet hamster named Humphrey, the series being titled "According To Humphery". Though there are multiple books in print, so far only the first, "The World According To Humphrey", has been recorded onto CD (and is currently only available in the UK). However, on October 2nd of this year, the second book with narration by Mr. Proops, "Friendship According To Humphrey", will be released (again, UK only). If you're at all interested in this charming, cute story of a witty little hamster who helps to solve his friends' problems, you can preorder it on Amazon. Concerning live shows, a nice slew of new gigs have been added to Greg's schedule. Greg has never hidden the fact that he enjoys marijuana. He has spoken about it in countless interviews and during stand-up routines, and has marched for medical marijuana rights. Thus, it doesn't come as a shock to hear that Greg is one of many comedians featured in the new film "Super High Me", a documentary by Doug Benson about smoking marijuana. The film is centered loosely on 'what happens if you don't smoke pot for 30 days, and then you smoke it for 30 days'. The DVD for this is being released on June 17th, and can be pre-ordered online by going to this website. Along the same stream of new Greg films, yet another documentary is featuring Sir Proops, except this one is about Largo, the comedy club that for years was on Fairfax in Los Angeles (but is currently in the works of moving to a new location) and that just closed its doors. The documentary bases itself on its rich history of music and comedy, showcasing a long string of comedians and musicians. Largo is where Greg has hosted all of his chat shows, so we can assume that some of the material in the documentary is taken from those. Though right now it has no release date, it will be playing at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 22nd. We just have a quick update for you concerning show dates, times, and TICKETS! The tickets for the Bell Centre, Surry show and the Kelowna show for Whose Live Anyway are now on sale! I have provided purchasing links below. Also, a brand-new show featuring just Greg and Ryan Stiles has also been announced. It is this upcoming Wednesday, and almost as soon as it was announced, it was sold out. However, if you're in the Hollywood area, there will still be a stand-by line, and so you might still be able to get in. Lastly, two new stand-up dates have been added - one in Sparks, Nevada on the 24th of May, and one tomorrow night with Comedy Death Ray in Hollywood.

Though this site is far from being done, over the last few months, GPN has increased in size dramatically. A grand array of features and multimedia have been uploaded to the site in the short time that it has been open. Just a few of the sections currently open (and constantly being added to) include: ~ The Galleries: So far we have over 1700 photographs and screencaps in our ever-growing Galleries section! New galleries and pics are being added to it constantly, so keep checking back for the latest and greatest pics. From stand-up work to improv, to behind the scenes to film and television work, if you love pictures, surely you cannot pass up the Galleries! ~ Video Clips: Currently our Video Clips section (found under 'Media') hosts almost 60 downloadable, watchable Greg clips, including (but not limited to) all twelve episodes of The Green Screen Show, two episodes of Rendez-View, the premiere episode of VS., the 2001 broadcasting of Improv All-Stars, snippets from Greg's appearance on The Weakest Link, and much, much more. This section is also being consistently added to, so be sure to pop in every so often to catch up with our newest upload! These are quite a read and many are packed with a lot of history and information concerning Greg's likes and dislikes, past, and career. Included are a few articles that Greg himself has written! ~ Fanart: Hosted in the Creative section, be sure to check out some lovely fanart created by a artists as they celebrate their appreciate for Greg and his work through various art medias. There are definitely some talented pieces in there, so be sure to check out their fab work! ~ Icons & Avatars: Also situated in the Creative area of the site, we currently have well over 300 Greg icons and avatars designed and created by a vast array of fans for fans. If you own a blog, Livejournal, or if you like to hang out on forums, these icons are great to use for any one of those functions, among others. (Credit to the original creator is appreciated!) Even if you don't wish to use them, they are still worth a browse, as many are chuckle-worthy. We thank all those who have worked hard with their select talents - whether it be fanart, icons, photographs, and more! More, new sections will be added to the site momentarily. I am persistently updating this place, even though I do not write about it on the main page until a later date. Hello, and welcome to Proopalicious: Greg Proops Net, the all-new website for actor and comedian Greg Proops! I am Diane, your humble webmistress, and tour guide on this journey through Proopsism in its newly created niche for fans of all ages across the globe. As this site is just barely opening its virtual doors to the waves of the world wide web, it is best to mention that GPN is still heavily under construction! Many pages or links you click might not work at the moment, but that someday in the near future, they will take you to the intended destination. I urge you to keep checking back to the site frequently, as new features, items, and sections will (hopefully) be premiering weekly! However, I am a full-time college student, so I kindly implore that you display patience with me and my budjeted time as I continue to expand this site. My goal is to have everything completed and running smoothly by the end of summer. If you'd be at all interested in helping us get rolling, a great way to lend a hand is to send in contributions. Fanart, photographs, comics, icons and avatars, banners, wallpapers, fanfiction, etc., or even site suggestions and ideas for things you want to see developed are all readily accepted with appreciation. If you're wondering just what exactly this site will one day encompass, pop on over to one of my other fansites, our sister sites, Idleized Heaven or Ryan Stiles Net. I have been running Idleized Heaven (IH) for almost five years now, and it is a perfect example of how I run websites and the kind of quality and effort I pour into my work. Likewise, Ryan Stiles Net is an extremely popular site that is constantly growing, and GPN will be a very similar parallel to RSN. A lot of the designs and features from IH and RSN will eventually be seen here. As for chatting and discussions, soon our forum will be open. For the meantime, we have the tagboard as well as the news area commenting system (which can be seen below each update titled 'Comments'). Please feel free to use these systems, but understand that I reserve the right to block certain people if needs be and to delete posts. It was a goal of mine to get the Buttons And Banners page done for today, but again, it did not happen (you can blame college). It, too, shall be open very soon. I did, however, have time to make two new Wallpapers for your use. Also, please check out our latest Fanart piece, as well as an additional nineteen new Icons & Avatars as created by a host of lovely, wonderful, talented Greg fans. Your art is our love!
